The day Paramount notified Modiphius they were granting us the license to create RPG material based on Star Trek: Lower Decks, I jumped and did a Boimler-esque fist pump. Then rapidly sat down again because I knew it was news I couldn’t share with anyone outside the Star Trek Adventures development team for a very long time.
I mean, I told my cat Viola, but she didn’t care. Rude.
I did get to tell my team, and their response was overwhelmingly positive. Like hungry mugato ready to feast, they were ready to dig into the series and get cracking on developing a mighty tome reflecting the joy of the series and the zany, irreverent tone of humor the series brings to Star Trek.
And so we got to work on a massive 240-page toolbox, a toolbox that you can now preorder and enjoy in digital format while we wait for the slow boat to make its way across the Atlantic with the print copies.
(My kingdom for a transporter, or a replicator, or even just a dinky little pond-skimmer to get the books over here just a little faster. Someone get on that – this is the 21st century, right?)
