Management Accountant

Modiphius Entertainment is a leader in the Tabletop Gaming industry with huge titles published including Video Game, TV, FIlm and in house IPs. We are a SME with a global footprint and we are looking to fill an important role in the finance structure.

We are seeking a qualified management accountant to stay on top of our finances through conscientious financial analysis and strategy. Our ideal management accountant should exhibit outstanding accounting and management expertise that translates to business growth and long-term success. With the skillsets to strategize and make difficult decisions, the management accountant will spearhead crucial accounting procedures that shape the future of the business. They will manage the company wide budgeting process with the MD and work closely with the CFO on accounting practice improvements and management.

Salary: £40,000 - 50,000 per annum based on experience. Generous Holiday including birthday off every year, annual discretionary bonus, flexible working. Work laptop provided and other essentials.

Role

  • Provide accurate and time-sensitive financial management and accounting information to stakeholders or senior management.
  • Enable quicker decision-making by presenting strategies that are backed up by financial accounting management data.
  • Advise on the group financial structure and best practices for the UK, and EU side of the business.
  • Evaluate the financial performance and position of the business by going through budgets, expenditures and taxation.
  • Work towards business success and long-term growth of the company through advanced management accounting strategies and practices.
  • Prepare forecasts for the future of the business through innovative approaches that are combined with traditional management accounting practices.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, interpret and maintain financial information to improve the efficiency of management and accounting processes within the company.
  • Analyse data and prepare financial reports for the same.
  • Advise and support the finance team, checking reports and overseeing delivery of management and yearly accounts..
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts through accurate management accounting services.
  • Monitor cash flows and keep track of all cash-related transactions.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements and legal regulations that come with management and accounting.
  • Perform risk assessment services and design plans to minimise risk within the organisation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience working as or under a management accountant.
  • Solid know-how of accounting principles and practices.
  • Expert-level knowledge of MS Office.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Experience in budgeting, cost control, risk assessment, forecasting and managing investments.
  • Sound knowledge of UK tax regulations and management and accounting practices.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in finance, accounting or a related discipline.
  • A professional accounting qualification such as CFA, ACCA, CFP, FRM.
  • Knowledge of any common accounting software (preferably Quickbooks).
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data, while working under pressure independently or as a team.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of US and/or Maltese tax regulations and management and accounting practices.

Project Manager (Malta Based) 

Modiphius Entertainment Europe is looking for a dynamic Project Manager passionate about delivering tabletop games to an exciting, expanding market. You will be a part of the product management team, organising the development, production, and fulfilment of tabletop roleplaying, miniature, card, and board games, working with some of the leading international licences and original intellectual properties. You should also be available to work remotely during British office hours, 9am - 5pm. (10am - 6pm local time)

Salary: €30,000 - €34,500 per annum (Malta based or willing to relocate). 32 holiday days (inclusive UK bank holidays). Annual bonus based on company performance.

Location: Malta

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the product line is delivered on time and within budget, as briefed by the senior management team.
  • Ensuring final products are delivered to high standards, as outlined in the brief by the senior management team.

Authority

  • To commission contractors and assign them work, within the budget and scope of the project.
  • To assign work to the game development, studio, and operations teams, as required from the brief.
  • To approve or reject commissioned work, within the scope of the brief.
  • To oversee and manage approvals to any licensors or stakeholders.

Role

  • To manage the processes and work to create and manufacture the products briefed by the senior management team.
  • To structure and manage each assigned project's delivery plan.
  • To oversee and manage the completion of all time boxes in the delivery plan.
  • To keep a record of costs as per the budget for the products created for the product line to which you’re assigned.
  • Create graphic design briefs for products and games in conjunction and approved by the senior management team.
  • Assign work, as briefed by the senior management team, to the game development, and studio teams.
  • Commission contractors and assign them work, and brief them, liaising with them for deadlines and ensuring their work is to brief.
  • Assist customer service with queries about the product line.
  • To oversee that content for licensor approval is submitted by the relevant party and moving ahead with product delivery once that approval has been received, at their required stages.
  • Liaising with and assisting the sales team with the sale and distribution of the products you are responsible for.
  • Liaising with production managers and the senior management team in order to initiate, confirm, and seek approval for production of the products you are responsible for.

Production Operative - Cornwall

We are seeking a motivated hard-working individual to join our growing team of resin figure manufacturers. We work in a quality driven environment and require someone with a high attention to detail to assist within the resin casting process.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demoudling of cast resin parts.
  • Quality control, checking cast parts.
  • Achieving daily quota's of produced parts.
  • Assembly of finished products.
  • Assisting with the daily running of moulds.
  • Opportunity available to learn the moudling and casting process

Workshop based in Lostwithiel in Cornwall, England all skills and training provided but existing knowledge of mould making and table top gaming is a great bonus. You must be based near Liskeard or willing to relocate to apply to the role (please indicate this in your application), and must have the legal right to work in the UK.
