Description

"Star Trek Adventures finally corrects the injustice of not having a Star Trek game around at the same time Star Trek Discovery is ripping through TV sets and data streams.... the gaming experience feels exactly like Star Trek. Sit on the commander's chair, take a deep breath, and engage. Star Trek is not just back; it is here to stay." RPG.net review

Star Trek Adventures takes you to the Final Frontier of the Galaxy, where new discoveries await keen explorers of Starfleet. Your duties may take you to the edges of known space, or to Federation colonies in need, to the borders of neighbouring galactic powers or into the eye of interstellar phenomena. Your ship and your crew epitomise the best Starfleet and the United Federation of Planets has to offer, and you are needed more than ever.

A new threat looms from across the Gamma Quadrant, as it is confirmed by Commander Sisko and his crew that the Dominion, led by the Founders, represent a significant threat to the Alpha Quadrant. Tension is already high in the region of Bajor and Deep Space 9, as the Maquis continue to act against the Cardassian-Federation peace treaty, with Captain Janeway and the crew of the U.S.S. Voyager preparing for their mission in the Badlands. It is a volatile time for the Federation and new crews have never been in higher demand.

"All told, Star Trek Adventures does a really good job of feeling like Star Trek (which is kind of important, yes?)."

A brilliant game

I bought this for my gaming group who were looking to try something different and we all loved it.

It's well laid out, well written, easy to understand and really simple to dive into and start playing. In addition, there is a lovely 'family' feel to the STA community.

There's LOADS of background information in the book, perhaps too much for non-trekies and some of it certainly lacks sufficient context for non-trek fans.

However it is brilliant value for money and I'd encourage any RPG fan to pick up a copy.

Live long, and set phases to stun...

Great PDF! & Bonus PDF

The core rulebook is a great PDF, well produced, great links to find pages and sections. Artwork is really good in this book as well. I also LOVED the printer friendly PDF as I wanted to print a few sections out and a black background would have been awful on a printer.

All in all great job!

Beautifully Made!

I have been waiting for a long time for a well made Star Trek RPG. I've been following this since August and just purchased the PDF version of the game. I just ran through the character building and I completely agree with Edward Mueller's, Jake's, and Mateusz Płoszczyca's review on the character creation. You truly feel attached to the character you have created. The streamlined approach and personalization makes creation feel so much more than just crunching numbers. I am a fan of the log entries placed throughout the book. It makes you feel like you're really about to step onboard a star ship and embark on an adventure.

A lot of fun!

I've been a Star Trek fan since a child, and hurried home from school to catch Original Series reruns. As a role playing game fan, unfortunately, never quite settled into a Star Trek RPG because no system really caught my fancy... either too combat oriented, or not enough to really flesh out the non-combat aspects that seem required to be true to the feel of the series.

This seems to have changed with this release. I took a chance and ordered the PDF after hearing about the release from people buzzing about it at the Star Trek Las Vegas Convention, and am glad I did!

There's plenty of resources in there to help bring a person up to speed who's not really a fan of Star Trek -- and certainly plenty in there to help jog a fan's memory of certain events that have happened over the course of the shows (and represent things in game terms). I'm a real fan of the open feel of these rules, as so many things can occur in the Star Trek universe, so rules initially need to be guidelines that can be adapted.

Character creation is also a big plus, leading the player to create a character's background over the course of development... a real win as you feel attached to your character from the beginning.

LOTS of information, and a great value!
